Rachel and Zac
Barefoot, flowers, tears, starry eyes and Jesus are words I would use to describe this day.
One thing evident throughout Rachel and Zac’s wedding day was the importance of sitting in moments and allowing yourself to enjoy them. Spend time chatting, smiling and laughing with those you love the most whilst enjoying the beautiful hum of the noise surrounding you.
Covid-19 has made restrictions for getting married pretty difficult over the past year or so, and there were close family members they hadn’t thought would make it to the day- but they did. The reunions were so bittersweet to watch. I think if anything the pandemic has given an amplified appreciation for, connection. We all long for it and it was beautiful to witness.
This was actually a first for me: seeing a school friend get married. The same girl I sat next to in English class and went to book club with on a Thursday lunch time. It was so lovely to have the nostalgia of past memories whilst capturing the makings of new ones. The best kind of deja vu.
Zac and Rachel fit each other perfectly, with christ at the centre of their relationship they allowed themselves to dream and wander through what christ has in store for their future together. Through her speech, Rachel shared that her new surname ‘Mabbs’ comes from the word ‘amibilis’ which in origin means ‘loveable’ and I don’t think there is a better way than that to describe this pair together. Not just loveable- but so loved and in love.
